...I was released. Saber believed I was still of use to the force. Minato disagreed... but I was released anyways.

As for why I did that to my hand, well... I'm better off without the Soul Eater. It won't effect my possession of it in my own world, but at least here... no one will have to fear its power.

That is the truth. I killed Cecil because of what he did to Kazuki... And because I thought the Soul Eater was the only way to rid this world of him forever.

I was wrong on every account.

During my arrest... Viki tried to get involved. Without me commanding it, Soul Eater took her life as well. I...

She acted as if she felt nothing. But that's wrong. I know the pain Soul Eater inflicts on its victims. She acted as if everything was alright, but I had betrayed my promise to protect her.

Nothing... not even death... can ever make up for what I did.
