Forty Third Star

Geeze, my first few days back on the job after getting my new hand and suddenly everyone takes crazy pills. What a work out...

Is there anything that immediately requires my attention? And orders that specifically need to be carried out? I'm open to suggestions here. Minato? Saber? Anything at all. Just please, I really don't want to deal with the loopy people... unless they're falling out of windows or something.

Not that I'm not normally willing to help, but sheesh, what happened here? Was there something in the food they all ate? I think we might have an amature pharmacologist on our hands, folks...

Until then, I'll just be, uh... patroling or something. Wowee, this is awkward.

Minato watched Kazuki from the corner of his eye, noticing where his attention was. Clenching his jaw and drawing in a deep breath, Minato closed his eyes and lifted the twin blades up in one hand.

"Kadaj's." Minato turned the filthy weapon slowly, twisting his wrist for Kazuki to get a better look at it. Then he looked over to Tir, at his change of subject. The path away from Minato's little fib.

"Is it? ...I hadn't noticed." He looked up at the sky as if that could tell him something, then back down to his knees, setting Souba down there. "...Maybe the summer is coming. Swimming again... it would be nice."

Minato appreciated their company, whether or not he could find the words to say it. Instead, he scoots a little closer to Kazuki, and rests his head on Tir's shoulder. Maybe it would be enough.

"I know," He said, and that was it. Where it had gotten that blood, or how Minato had gotten so filthy himself... He didn't ask.

Kazuki just sat quietly, smiling gently to himself as Minato made his way closer. He didn't mind him laying his head against Tir like that. If anything, it lifted his spirits a little. Maybe he could finally come to trust his fellow again.

He put a hand on his friend's back, and let it stay there. And so he would, for as long as it took.

"I haven't swam in some time... think the lake is good for that?" Tir asked, keeping to that topic of conversation. Metaphorically speaking, the weight of Minato's head on his shoulder was intense. He was being leaned on by Minato for once... not the other way around. Could he do that anymore? Tir often found himself questioning if he could still be a Tenkai in a place like this...

That wouldn't stop him from trying.

"Or maybe the scientists will throw us a beach party," he chuckled, the words honestly bringing an amusing image to mind.
