To be honest, I hated the idea. It made me feel sick. But... it honestly felt like the only choice for minimizing casualties...

It isn't. It's best that it isn't something that you announced to everyone because people likely would have picked up where you left off when you didn't follow through.

Can you promise me, though? Can you promise me that you aren't just sending the arresting party to their deaths...

... Why would you ask me something like that? I've never done anything like that before and I don't plan on starting now.

Because I still have my doubts that this will minimize casualties. I've gone over each scenario in my head and I can't... I can't see us coming out on top if we have no intent to eliminate in our course of action. It disgusts me... because I'm sure that's exactly what they want.

There's no way I can promise every officer will be safe, or even not die in this situation. We've seen what they can do to others, but not what they're capable of themselves and that could make things even more dangerous.

I can promise that I won't be careless and throw away lives, but each of us knows that this job is a risk, and what we were getting into when we joined. You can trust me to do my best and be as careful as I can, but I can't humour you with that lie... I won't.
