Thirty Second Star [Accidental Audio]

-There is the sound of a bo staff being used on a few nurses. To those familiar with Tir... those sounds are VERY familiar-

"You know, it's weird... even knowing what's going to happen, I feel better fighting beside you like this, Viki."

"It really is nice fighting alongside you again, even if...well, what's going to happen, Tir?"

"Well, I'm going to turn myself in, for one.... And you know what? I don't really feel a lot of problem with that. Like a great weight lifted off my shoulders. It's odd."

"But...I'm not mad at you at all, Tir..."

"...We should get out of here. I can't delay the inevitable any further."

"I really wish I could help a bit more with the fighting. Hey, Tir. Can I come visit you?"

"Um... I don't see why not. I guess it will be up to Sir Redfield."

"How long will you be in prison, Tir?"

"...I don't know"

"I'm...going to miss you. I'll have to find a new place to stay until you're out, but I'll wait, okay?"

"What, you don't plan on staying with Kazuki and Maora?"

"I'd rather stay with you, Tir!"

"And I'd rather you stay with them for now."

"I don't really know them as well as you..."

"But I do know Kazuki. And I want you to stay with him."

"Hey, Tir...do you think I'm strong enough to live on my own?"

"Well... Probably. But I'd still worry. I'd worry less if you were with Kazuki."

"There are a lot of monsters in here...at this rate, I'm going to forget how to use my rune again...Oh, w-wait! Maybe I can stay with one of my friends, Tir."

"You know, maybe we should worry about this AFTER we're out of the hospital."

"Right! That makes sense. Oh, be careful!"

-There's an inhuman shriek as another group of nurses attack Tir and Viki. Obviously the pair has been brought back!-

The lack of discipline and unwillingness to follow our own rules is ridiculous. If nobody is willing to take on the responsibilities they're supposed to, and burdening one or two, then I'll do the same job without a label and answer to myself.

If this police force doesn't show any improvement, I just won't anymore. The city is what's important, not the status.

But... What about Naoto! We can't both disappoint her! I won't allow you to just give up like that!

Tir... I've apologized and taken the blame for your actions today.

I was told nobody was making sure that Cecil was eating.

I've promised to do my best and more to make up for the mistake and lack of action that keeps this police force looking the way that it does in everyone's eyes.

I'm not "just quitting". Everyone else did. As hard as I've tried to, I can't do that much on my own. If the rest of them don't show that they're still a part of this, then what police force is there?

Why would you do that? Why would you take the blame for those things!? THAT WAS NOT YOUR BURDEN TO BEAR!

And of course he was eating!

Because nobody else would. You took matters into your own hands and made the entire police force look bad. The girl I spoke to generalized us- as a group we're all failures because of one person's failure. We need to stay organized and follow our own laws and you couldn't do that.

No, he was given food, but he wasn't eating. The girl accused us of starving him.

If you mean that girl named "Kaye", she's an idiot. I know that's rude to say, but nothing from what I've spoken to her leads me to believe she has any sense. She's just another person who bought in to his cult of personality.

And you made a choice to to keep me as part of the group people were damning for my sins. You could have just as easily said the moment I took matters into my own hands, I stopped being a part of the force. That's what you SHOULD have said. You should have admonished me publicly. You should have told them I was a monster. Because that was the truth, wasn't it?

She's angry about what you did to her friend, whether he's a criminal or not. No matter what her opinion is, or yours is on her, she's angry at your mistake. She isn't at any fault.

How can you accuse me, as though I'm the "leader"? Weren't you supposed to be the leader, Tir? You were the one always trying to take charge of everything you could, whether you could handle it or not.

I've made sure everyone I've spoken to on the matter knows very clearly that you are no longer a part of the force. But you were when you did this, Tir. You didn't quit before you took these actions. You went knowingly into that jail to do Naoto's job. You took advantage of the situation by using your position as an officer to remove him from his cell and you murdered him.

So no, Tir. You are not a member of this police force if I have any say in the matter, in case I didn't state it clearly enough. So stop pointing your damned finger at me. You've done enough already.

...So you're going to quit, just like that?

No. as I said, I'm leaving if nobody is willing to improve other than myself and one other. It doesn't work that way. I can try and improve matters, and improve the group, but with no effort or willingness to follow the rules there can't be any improvement.

Rather than waste time on a group who doesn't want to try, those who want to do something about this city and the ones who mean to hurt anyone can get out there and do that.

I haven't come to a decision yet, and I'm still speaking to officers and people who want to become them before I do.

...Do you have handcuffs ready?

Yes. I didn't think it would be necessary but I had a feeling you would ask.

I don't think showing me any favor would look good. So I will refuse any, and ask none.

Also, I would like to arrange something with the daughters. I will be removing my right hand.

Of all people, I didn't plan on showing you any.

... WHAT?!

I discovered while in the hospital that, while my chip is in, my right arm can be struck and can bleed without Soul Eater defending itself. I think it can be safely amuptated, thus removing the rune.

The hand would have to be locked away, though. It cannot be allowed to find a new host.

Tir- That's insane. You just can't trust yourself not to have your chip taken out a second time, can you?

Minato, do keep in mind that I am a studied strategist. Allow me to explain:

The Will of Soul Eater is present with or without the chip. It can influence me in something not unlike hypnotic suggestion, though I will not blame this for what I did. However, I have also learned that my will power can be broken. And I do not wish to give Soul Eater another chance in this world.

I heard whispers that, when Sir Edgeworth was here the first time long before my arrival, he had lost an arm. The Sir Edgeworth here now clearly has two arms. Our maimings are not taken with us back to our worlds. That is clear to me. I know that I will still walk the earth for eternity as Soul Eater's vessel for as long as it sees fit in my own world.

However...

I do not have to subject myself to that here. Here, I have an option I do not have there, and that is the removal of my hand. With my chip in, Soul Eater cannot defend itself, and therefore will not lash out if this happens.

...

I don't want this to make sense. I don't want to have to set this up- it's terrible to have to mutilate yourself this way.

It's not so bad, really... not like I'll have much use for it in jail.

I'll have to ask you if you can do me one favour in this. If you can.

At this point, I don't think even a thousand favors can repay what I owe...

Of course I will do whatever you ask.

Your chip... I want you to tell me where it was, so I can have Aigis' removed. She wants to be able to do her best, and the police force is hurting for that right now.

I know when I had mine removed, I was made to promise not to say anything, but you have my word it won't get to anyone else.
