Eighteenth Star

All this talk...about murders and redemption.

Well I've got a reality check...no matter what any person, government, or deity might say...there are no pardons. There is no redeeming a bloodied hand. Once someone has killed, there's no turning back to innocence. It's impossible. Once someone has...murdered...they will never have a clean soul again.

That burden will be carried with them to the end of their days...and for some of them, that end will never come...

You don't believe in it? That sinners can be forgiven, are forgiven. Not always, but it's surprising what sorrow and guilt can do.

[identity profile] tenkai-soul.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
I'm not forgiven, because I don't forgive myself.

[identity profile] angelic-lawyer.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 07:39 am (UTC)(link)
It's amazing how often that is the case.

[identity profile] tenkai-soul.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 07:41 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe...maybe if my situation was different. Maybe if I wasn't forced to carry this, it wouldn't be this bad, but...

[identity profile] angelic-lawyer.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 07:46 am (UTC)(link)
Forced to carry? You're only forced to carry what you choose to carry. What you choose to accept as a burden, what you choose to repent for, to move on from.

[identity profile] tenkai-soul.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 09:26 am (UTC)(link)
Of course...you don't get it.

[identity profile] angelic-lawyer.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 09:35 am (UTC)(link)
You'd be surprised. I'm allowed my own opinions on the matter, though.

[identity profile] tenkai-soul.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 09:36 am (UTC)(link)
I didn't choose to cary this burden. No one chooses a True Rune.

[identity profile] notquitefallen.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 07:38 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, but it doesn't take a murder to need forgiveness.

[identity profile] notquitefallen.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 07:42 am (UTC)(link)
I'd expect that from you.

Forgiveness from others is worthless anyways. Despite what horror movies would like you to think, grudges can't be held past the grave. It would only be for selfish piece of mind.

[identity profile] angelic-lawyer.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 07:49 am (UTC)(link)
Am I that predictable?

Of course. The only forgiveness one ever truly needs is the forgiveness of oneself. Atonement is only ever meant for oneself. Forgiveness from others does nothing for you as a person if you cannot forgive yourself.

((ooc: You have a kind of terrifying icon swap (http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e365/xuiei2/iconswap.jpg) |D IGNORE THE FACT I SAVED IT IN PAINT.))

[identity profile] notquitefallen.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 07:52 am (UTC)(link)
Very.

Have I ever told you that I like the way you think?

ooc: holy shit what is that, if she going to eat me

[identity profile] angelic-lawyer.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 07:53 am (UTC)(link)
I find that slightly disappointing, to be honest.

It seems you have now.

[identity profile] notquitefallen.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
The depressing and introspective types usually are. Until the day they snap, that is.

Practically do my job for me. Only a nudge in the proper direction, and you take care of the rest.

[identity profile] angelic-lawyer.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 07:59 am (UTC)(link)
Is that so?

...Oh? And what is it, may I ask, that I 'take care of'?

((ooc: Naruse is feeling slightly concerned over what he's managed to pick up, now, actually |D))

I wouldn't say it if it wasn't.

You doubt. You lose belief. You think in a way that They don't want you to think.

ooc: Crowley's very existence is concerning, is it not? |3

Hmm. I see. 'They'?

((ooc: Indeed XD))

[identity profile] angelic-lawyer.livejournal.com 2009-01-11 08:11 am (UTC)(link)
Of course.
